Starting on the Shop & Elevation Prep.
My Journey: Getting Back on My Feet.
While I worked on acquiring a new home for me and my shop, Olympic Kiln finished the new kiln, so I picked it up and brought it to storage.
After closing on the house, I got a shop space up and running, but many issues were preventing the new kiln from working well with mandrels, including problems with leaks when it rained, and a complete lack of space.
And wow the northern lights came to visit.
Northern Lights
Not only did I spend time getting the shop up and running, but there was also much work to be done on the property, from the landscaping to the house itself.
For a while, I worked inside my house as it was too cold in the small red building to make much progress.
Moved Inside
Eventually, the new shop showed up, and I could begin the loadout. I also had to remove some trees that posed a risk to the infrastructure. There was also much work done to secure the property and upgrade the electrical system.
The doggo likes to explore, so I had to make him a safe place to roam. Fencing was installed.
In the end, the kiln modifications were successful, and Ulfur is a good Guard dog while I'm away.
Working Kiln
There is still a kiln that needs to be moved, and two kilns that need repairs. I also have no working lapidary equipment. There are many problems still to be addressed. But now it’s time to turn my attention toward preparations. From making meads and cordials to glasswork.
And then there is a date Red Tower.
Thank You All, Love You.
