Things Are About To Get Hard

Furnace to Flame: A Journey In Glass

I continued with exploring presenting my work in A&S Competitions. I also continued to explore jewelry making using my glass beads and other beads. Working in my shop was a joy and an escape from what was happening in my life.

A good friend wanted me to make these three beads based on ones in a book about Roman reenactment.

Just as things were looking up for my art, I also found myself struggling with the realities of my LGBTQ life. I was about to enter a period of time where work would not be steady and my residence would move about a few times. My Milledgeville shop was packed up and moved into storage until I could work out a place to work again.

2015 began with this picture of me as I remembered yet another LGBTQ person lost too early.

I would spend 2015 trying to keep afloat as I dealt with the reality of being LGBTQ in this broken world. While I would not get back on my feet again until 2017, I did find some time and a place to get back to work in 2016.
