Mica Veil Pin Made on Recycled Manderals
This is a set of two veil pins made on a doll needle. The pins are 3 inches long. The design is based on gold foil beads found along pre-modern trade routes. Mica has been used to give a similar look to gold foil without the expense.
As mandrels are used, they sometimes become bent and the bent portion is cut off. Over time, they become too short to use as mandrels for making beads and they end their life as these veil pins.
Note: These pins are sharp, be careful with them. They will bend with pressure so use with care. The glass may eventually crack or break and should be disposed of if they become damaged.
