This 13 1/4 inch bead strand is inspired by one featured in Viking age beads from Iceland, [January 2010, Authors: Elín Ósk Hreiðarsdóttir, Instatute of Arceology Iceland] The clear glass at one end was added too bring the focal bead to the center. Glass was used as substitute for carnelian and amber in this peace. However; there was rock crystal (Quatz) used in the peace. It is strung on Stainless Steel wire and finished with Sterling silver findings.

From the Article “ELABORATE NECKLACE of glass and amber beads from a Viking era site in Iceland. Most are monochrome glass, but there are trail- and cane- decorated glass beads, and a cornerless-cube bicolor glass bead. Two amber beads flank the center, intricately carved carnelian bead (?).”
