From Furnace to Flame: A Journey In Glass

My partner worked his heart out over the course of a year to make it possible for us to have a dedicated shop space. It took a few months for me to make the space meet my needs.

I spent many days working around the electrician as he ran lines to power the kiln and other equipment. I spent a good bit of this time building out work benches. One of them was my lampwork bench.

There was a lot of electrical work to be done. Outlets, dedicated circuits, lights, and more.

I continued to build out the shop while the electrician did his work. I built a jewelers bench and rebuilt the existing work bench, reusing the top while upgrading the legs. I also put in shelving and a rack for organizing my COE 104 glass. I had to clean a lot of tools that had been in storage such as cleaning my ring sizers and rotary tools.

Then, this happened.

That was my door. So, it was time to put in a new one.

Soon, I was at work in the shop and for the first time in a long time I was able to really push my skills to improve. Things where looking bright.
