Dirhem-Abbasid Caliphate
My Journey
This coin is modeled after a Silver Dirhem-Abbasid Caliphate. al-Muntasir. AH 247-248 / AD 861-862 (9th Century) Samarra Mint. The die were made by James Coffman.
I made some earrings and a ring from the new coins. This is also the first ring to be made with the de-burring tool that was definitely an improvement over using a bunch of rotary tools.
I also used this new die to make a coin brooch that has four 4mm amethyst cabs set on it. This is the most difficult silver piece I have attempted to make yet.
PS: I also made these as practice with setting cabs.
