Constantine VII Porphyrogenitus Coins
My Journey
I received the dies to make a new coin recently to make these Constantine VII Porphyrogenitus Reproductions. The dies are researched, designed, and produced by James Coffman.
The Contantine coins struck in house are on copper, pewter, Nugold (jeweler’s brass), coin silver, or silver. The dies used to make these coins were handmade for my shop. The legend says Jesus Christ Victor, the reverse says Constantine Porphyrogenitus, Romanus, by the grace of Christ, Pius, Emperors of the Romans.
Constantine VII Porphyrogenitus, with son Romanus II. 913-959, AR Miliaresion, Constantinople mint. Struck 945-959
I struck one of these coins in fine silver and then made a coin ring from them.
Of course, I had to make earrings, including a pair made with the plugs from the making of the coin rings. When I make the coin earrings, I try to make them so that you can face whichever side you prefer out.
James Coffman shared a coin brooch on his social media that gave me the inspiration to try to make one too.
